The content of our curriculum and the choice of subjects we teach aims to challenge our students’ imagination, knowledge and way of thinking. Our teachers are all subject specialists with access to state-of-the-art facilities. They promote creative thinking and problem solving in their lessons. Our innovative timetable of 90 minute lessons and 3 year GCSEs courses gives our students the time and space to become reflective, resilient and resourceful – ready to face the modern world.

We are creative in how we teach, in the provision of our equipment and the use of our facilities. We believe that creativity and problem solving will be vital to our students future success. We make a concerted effort to provide both the tools and the time to ensure they learn to think creatively. While our creative arts classrooms and facilities lack for nothing when it comes inspiring imagination Creativity is not confined to these subjects at Maida Vale School but is at the heart of our education.

We encourage our students to participate all areas of school life. From whole school plays, which really do involve the whole school, to sports matches, music concerts, charity work, workshops and public speaking there are many ways for every child to get involved at Maida Vale School. This is because we believe children get better at doing the things they enjoy when they are given the opportunity to take part.

We believe that education is a shared responsibility; it works best when all parties are engaged – the school, teachers, parents and the students themselves. Maida Vale School operates an ‘Open Door’ policy creating a warm and welcoming environment. Parents have their own space – The Parent Café and are welcome to drop in any time, for any reason – be it a cup of coffee with friends or catching up with a teacher to talk about their child’s progress.
