Admissions

The Maida Vale School admissions process aims to identify interesting, able and engaging students who will work well as a team supporting and inspiring one another.

Our application process is designed to be simple, online and easy to use. However, before making an application it is always advisable to visit the school first.

Our Admissions Registrar organises regular term time Open Mornings, normally on a Wednesday morning. This is the best time to see the school in action. The Headmaster, Deputy Head and Director of Academic each give a brief introduction after which there are plenty of pupils on hand to show you round their school and answer your questions. Parents and carers often decide to bring their children with them to these events and they benefit from seeing the school first hand as well as meeting staff and pupils.

Entry to Maida Vale School is normally in Y7 or for Sixth Form, with other places occasionally available. Admission is based on exams and interviews. We seek interesting, able and engaged students. We encourage our students to work together as a team to support and inspire one another.

Siblings may be given preference, subject to meeting our admissions criteria, at the discretion of the Headmaster. Faced with candidates of equal merit, sibling preference permits the Headmaster to favour one application over another. There is no automatic sibling priority.
