At Maida Vale School, our Sixth Form goes beyond academics to prepare students for university, careers, and life beyond school. Students are encouraged to become independent, adaptable, and world-ready young adults.
From Year 12, students receive personalised guidance, mentorship, and hands-on experiences to explore post-18 pathways. Recent destinations reflect the breadth of ambitions within the Sixth Form community, ranging from the University of Cambridge for Religion and Theology to Pepperdine University, California for Business, alongside courses such as Drama and English Language at the University of Leeds. Students also progress to Art Foundation courses and leading Drama Schools.
In 2026, 93% of applicants received offers from Russell Group universities.
Students meet representatives from UK universities and institutions, gaining first-hand insight into courses, campus life, and admissions processes. These visits help students make informed decisions about their future. Recent highlights include:
- A dynamic acting workshop hosted by the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NY, USA), offering aspiring performers a taste of professional training.
- A visit from a Cardiff University representative discussing life at a Russell Group university, applying for a year abroad, and what to include in personal statements.
- A professional fine dining chef and catering business owner inspiring Hospitality students with career options and pathways into the industry.
Applications & Specialist Support
- Specialist guidance for Oxbridge, Medicine, STEM, Art Foundation, apprenticeships, conservatoires, and international applications.
- Tailored support for UK, US, and European university applications from the summer term of Year 12.
- Workshops, admissions preparation, and work experience support for competitive courses including Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, and Law.
Expert Guidance & Mentorship
Through our partnership with Millie Group, students have access to global mentors, weekly interactive sessions, and workshops covering university applications, personal statements, work placements, and life skills.
Careers & Skills
Our Careers Programme helps students develop employability skills, explore emerging industries, and discover how their strengths and interests align with future opportunities. Unifrog supports students with skills assessments, research, and personalised guidance.
International Universities
Students interested in studying abroad can explore a wide range of opportunities in the USA and Europe. Each year, we welcome more than 10 international universities to MVS and provide dedicated support through our full-time international university advisor.
These visits allow students to speak directly with admissions officers, explore different university systems, and gain insight into international study options and careers beyond the UK.
