Our Creative Education Day, on Monday 21 June 2027, is designed to bring this philosophy to life. We are delighted to welcome our future Year 7 pupils for a special, immersive experience that offers a genuine insight into the energy, creativity and individuality that define a Maida Vale School education.

This is more than a taster day; it’s the beginning of your child’s unique co-ed, senior school journey with Maida Vale School.

A Day to Explore What’s Inside

From the moment pupils arrive, they will be welcomed into our community by staff and student ambassadors, before stepping into a series of thoughtfully designed, hands-on workshops.

Throughout the day, pupils will rotate in small groups ensuring every child feels known, supported and fully involved. It is a day built around participation, discovery and enjoyment.

Creative Workshops That Bring Learning to Life

Each pupil will take part in three inspiring sessions, designed to ignite imagination and build confidence.

We will confirm early in 2027 the details for the next Creative Day as we like to rotate the activities on offer each year.

In June 2026 we had the following activities, which will give you a flavour of what to expect.

Drama Workshop

Children discovered the power of performance through storytelling, movement and character in a dynamic, high-energy workshop. Pupils explored improvisation, built scenes together and experimented with voice and physical expression and brought their ideas to life on stage.

These lively sessions were designed to build confidence, encourage creative risk-taking and develop collaboration, all within a supportive and inclusive environment. Whether stepping into a character or shaping a story, pupils will were encouraged to express what’s inside and saw just how powerful that could be.

Art Workshop

Pupils stepped into our art studios and explored ideas through colour, movement and design. In this dynamic session, pupils created their own Keith Haring-inspired figure drawings, using the element of chance and were guided by the probability of a dice roll, helping influence composition and form.

This playful yet purposeful approach encouraged pupils to think creatively, take risks and embrace spontaneity, while developing confidence in expressing their ideas visually. It was a vibrant introduction to the imaginative and exploratory spirit of art at Maida Vale.

Science Workshop

Curiosity came to life in our ‘Fantastic Forces’ workshop, where pupils explored the impact of different forces through hands-on investigation. From pushing and pulling to understanding how forces shape the world around us, pupils enjoyed science in action.

Through practical experiments, they discovered how forces can sometimes be helpful and also how sometimes present unexpected challenges. This encouraged them to question, test and think like young scientists. It wa s a truly engaging and energetic introduction to the excitement of scientific discovery at Maida Vale.
